The debut album by Bicycles With No Riders is released today. “Hold You Up To The Light” is Umair Chaudhry’s debut solo release featuring 11 acoustically based songs. For the most part the only instruments are acoustic guitar and voice, with the occasional backing instrument such as piano and electric guitar. The songs are deliberately sparse and minimalist, drawing on Umair’s primal instincts of tonality and melody.
Bicycles With No Riders is the new solo project of Umair Chaudhry (Abandon, Monday Morning Sun, Absence etc) and focuses more on stripped down, basic song writing than the multi-layered approach of his other projects.

The first ever recording “Enron Ate My Baby” by experimental hardcore/ambient/post-metal band Xmas Lights is available as a donations-based release from today.
Xmas Lights were formed in Oxfordshire in early 2004 featuring ex-members of other Oxford bands Near Life Experience, Outofinto, Suffer The Fall & Vena Cava.
Taking in elements of metal, hardcore, electronica, and ambience Xmas Lights took their music to a whole new level through the sheer intensity of their live show, with band members often finding themselves scattered throughout the room or on the floor, while continuing to thrust their uncompromising musical salvo down people’s throats.
The new album by Monday Morning Sun is out now on digital. Listen/buy here (price £4).
Monday Morning Sun was formed in 2006 by two members of the Oxford hardcore experimentalists Xmas Lights. Taking their diverse influences the duo make music which meshes shades of light, emotion and drawn-out tension.
MMS was born from an admiration of psychedelic, ambient, dub, trip hop and mind-numbing guitar driven music, with lyrics pondering personal yet universal themes. Live drum loops are the backbone to a mixture of synths, sprawling guitars and the dual vocals of Umair and Marco.
This latest release expands on the dub/psychedelic/shoegaze blueprint of “The Usual Mile”, incoporating heavier beats and layers of synths/guitars.
As part of continuing upgrades to the site, all releases are now available in Apple Lossless format (M4a) as well as MP3 and FLAC.
We have many donations-based releases which are freely downloadable, along side our full-releases in a variety of physical/non-physical formats. Visit the new website here: www.blindsightrecords.co.uk
